On 16 May, 2008, Workforce Kentucky became susceptible to a number of security threats. On the same day the site was taken offline as a precaution. In the time since we have worked to address this issue as the site continued to exist in a static form, leaving us unable to upload more current data. As of 31 July, the site is back online. Within the next two weeks we will be working to update content and data that we have been unable to provide during this time. Research and Statistics will resume their monthly LMI newsletter published here in PDF format on Workforce Kentucky. This newsletter contains economic highlights such as total employment and unemployment, industry payroll employment, hours and earnings data for selected industries, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) employment, consumer price index (CPI), unemployment insurance data, and Workforce Investment Area (WIA) unemployment rates.

Business Employment Dynamics
The Bureau of Labor Statistics would like to introduce Business Employment Dynamics (BED) data. These data are quarterly series of gross job gains and gross job losses statistics for the entire economy. These data track changes in employment at the establishment level, and thus provide a picture of the dynamics underlying aggregate net employment growth statistics. |
